Melon Rind Games Educational Math Games that are great for Homeschool

Today I am going to share some fun board games from an award-winning company called Melon Rind.  Melon Rind is a mom owned business where she first created them for her son.  He understood math concepts but lagged in solid facts.  Many kids say that they dislike math, but most of the time they are probably referring to repetitive worksheets or no real like applications.  We are a huge gaming family, and love using board games in our education.  I am a homeschool mom with three kids and have been doing it for 10 years now and gameschooling is such a wonderful way to make math come alive.

Melon Rind send us five games and they are amazing.  They are so fun and colorful and make learning math so much fun for my kids.  I even think that they don't even know that are learning math and just playing a fun game.

The games they sent are...

  • Jump 1- In this active game, everyone is getting rid of cards. If you have a number 1 more or 1 less than the last card, then give it away! Cards are always changing in this number-hopping game.

  • Jump 3- In this active game, everyone is getting rid of cards. If you have a number 3 more or 3 less than the last card, then give it away! Cards are always changing in this number-hopping game. Everything stops with the Juggler!

  • Check the Oven- In this bluffing game, players collect cards that add to 12. Some players offer the cards you need. Others are bluffing. Be clever in who you trust, or you may be left with a dropped pie!

  • Clumsy Thief Junior- In this hilarious snatching game everything is changing hands. A round starts with players laying down two cards that add to 10 from their dealt hand. On "GO!" all players can take other player's stacks.

Again, I want to thank Melon Rind for sending these games to me for review.  These games are amazing and so much fun to play, your kids have no clue they are actually learning math.  The games are beautifully designed and such high quality and I recommend them for all families, not just homeschoolers.
