Food Anatomy Unit Study from Daily Skill Building

Today, I am going to share a fun unit study based off the book Food Anatomy, written by Julia Rothman.  Julia's anatomy books are really popular in the homeschool world.  There is also an Ocean, Farm, and Nature Anatomy Books in this series.

Daily Skill Building has put together fun unit studies to go along with all of the books.  We are currently doing the Food Anatomy study and we are loving it.  What I like most about the study is they draw to learn.  All my kids love drawing, so it's perfect for us.  My favorite type of learning in homeschooling is when they don't really know that they are actually learning, haha.

At first, you may think that there is not much about food that you could learn, because we eat it every day.  We pretty much, especially as moms, spend most of our days, planning, preparing, eating, and the hardest part, trying to get our kids to consume it.  I was very surprised that there are so many different foods that I have never heard of before.  I love how it focuses on things grown and consumed in other countries so you can add some geography to the mix.  There is also a ton of history, where they go over tools and foods used in times past.

If you want to see what is inside both of these books, see this video here...

I highly recommend this study, and I think Daily Skill Building did such a great job doing the worksheets that go along with the book.  Have you ever heard of these books before, or do you have them in your home??
